CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) - PLEASE READ
" During the COVID pandemic:
If you would normally collect your MEDICATION from the surgery please ring the bell.
FOR PATIENTS WHO WOULD NORMALLY COLLECT THEIR PRESCRIPTION FROM OUR PATELEY BRIDGE SURGERY please attend your nearest chemist as we have delivered your prescription direct to them.Unless you tell us otherwise we will assume you are happy for scripts to go directly to the nearest chemist if you are a non-dispensing patient. This is to minimise footfall in the surgery and reduce the risk to patients and staff. Please let us know if you would prefer to continue to pick up your script from reception.
The NHS has put in place measures to protect patients, our community and NHS staff while insuring as many services as possible are available to the public.
If you have symptoms associated with coronavirus including a new continuous cough or loss/change to sense of smell/taste or a high temperature, you are advised to stay home for 7 days.
Please do not book a GP appointment or attend your GP practice.
If you live with other people, they should stay at home for at least 14 days, to avoid spreading the infection outside the home. After 14 days, anyone you live with who does not have symptoms can return to their normal duties.
But, if anyone in your home gets symptoms, they should stay at home for 7 days from the day their symptoms start. Even if it means they're at home for longer than 14 days. The most up-to-date public guidance is always online at www.nhs.uk/coronavirus
If your symptoms are serious, or get worse, NHS 111 has an online coronavirus service that can tell you if you need further medical help and advise you what to do.
Only call NHS 111 direct if you are advised to do so by the online service or you cannot go online.
MSK PRACTITIONER SERVICE
The MSK Practitioner service is a new service for patients who are over the age of 16. Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy appointments are offered as an alternative to seeing your GP for back, neck. muscle or trapped nerve pain. The specialist physiotherapist can assess, diagnose and offer advice and guidance on how to manage your sypmtoms.
The MSK practitioners are experienced specialist physiotherapists who also work at Harrogate District Hospital. They can also refer you to the hospital for further investigations or specialist treatment.
To access this service please contact the surgery. Due to Covid-19 all MSK practitioner appointments will be telephone/Video consultations at present.
PRIMARY EYECARE - COVID 19 TELEPHONE ASSESSMENT SERVICE - Minor Eye Conditions

- Are you registered with a Local GP practice?
- Do you think you need advice or an appointment with a professional?
Please contact their Telephone Assessment Service on 0800 368 5152 where a clinician will be able to advise whether a face to face appointment is absolutely necessary. Should you need to be seen face to face, they will arrange wherever possible for you to be seen in your usual practice.

Nidderdale Plus are co-ordinating deliveries in circumstances where family, friends or neighbours are unable to collect medication on a patient's behalf. They are also running a service allowing them to take patients to GP surgery and hospital appointments. If you feel you would benefit from any of these services please contact them on 01423 714 953.
As the pandemic goes on, our systems are evolving week-by-week. "Test and Trace" has the potential to prevent swathes of staff being able to work, (and has already resulted in two Yorkshire practices having to close), so we are bringing in additional measures to mitigate this risk, including various structural changes and more staff working from home.
As part of this, it remains important for consultations to be managed remotely wherever possible. We are responding more quickly than ever to requests for 'phone calls, but have temporarily been unable to book these as formal appointments because of unpredictability of GP availability; not just because of sick leave but because of helping to man the COVID Red Site for the Primary Care Network. We are going to try re-introducing bookable telephone consultations in the near future.
Econsultations are proving a growing success, resulting in much better access and more efficient treatment for thousands of patients, though of course not everyone has access to the internet. Video consultations are also working very well and saving many patients the need to attend the surgery. These are typically set up following an eConsultation or during a phone call, but do require a mobile 'phone. New software is also allowing us to send more documents electronically including Fit Notes.
Thank you to all our patients for your patience with all these changes and those to come
